The Historic Mining Grounds: From Bori to Loralai

The mining operations of Eterna Bori are rooted in the Loralai region, a area historically referred to as "Bori." This region is part of the Sulaiman Fold Belt, a geological formation known for its rich sedimentary deposits.

The mining process here is a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern quarrying techniques. Unlike deep-shaft mining, the travertine deposits in Loralai are found in layered hillsides. The extraction process involves:

1. Overburden Removal: Clearing the topsoil and weathered rock to expose the solid travertine vein.

2. Wire Saw Cutting: Utilizing diamond wire saws to cut massive blocks from the mountain with precision, ensuring minimal micro-fractures.

3. Block Extraction: Using expanders and controlled hydraulic pressure to separate the blocks without causing internal stress, preserving the stone's natural integrity.

The region’s geological history—characterized by ancient hot springs and calcium carbonate precipitation—has resulted in travertine deposits that are renowned for their density, durability, and unique aesthetic variations.
